Now, that I have given you a brief description, let me get into the fun part. I talk to my anoles as I would a puppy. They respond to a kind voice, and at certain times during the day will sit and listen to me talk to them. Zyrtek will sometimes crawl up a leaf or sit on his perch just to listen to me. When he is content he will even wink at me. Yes, I know that it sounds silly, but he does. Gigi will allow me get close and she will be still and listen to me talk to her. The other two, will listen, but only from a distance. Again, it depends on what I call their “mood swings”.
A 10- to 15-gallon enclosure will give your frog the amount of room that it needs. If you’d like to house 2 frogs, a 20-gallon tank is recommended. Be sure to use a terrarium with a tight, screen lid secure enough to prevent escapes. These frogs are great climbers!
A Wardian Case which is also known as a plant Terrarium is excellent for growing herbs indoors. It was invented by Wardian Case and is terrific for humidity loving tropical herbs like ferns. It is so easy to use that you will get hooked to it. The Terrarium team building is generally a glass case that holds moisture so you can conveniently forget to water the herbs. The moisture is sustained for days and sometimes weeks. Almost any type of herb that is not very hungry for space will survive in Terrarium.
Although it’s important that you provide them with Terrarium workshop water it’s just as important that you don’t put too much in there. If there is too much moisture inside, you may experience problems with mold.
A heavy box is an inexpensive choice and when the box becomes soiled you can always discard it and get a new one. However, it will not provide a great deal of protection if you have a dog or cat that wants to pay a call on the turtle. A goldfish bowl is also inexpensive, and easy to clean. However, a goldfish bowl is not a good choice for most turtles because there is not enough room for them to move around. Some people have even tried to put turtles in a fishbowl that is filled with water. Listen closely, turtles are not fish and they cannot swim 24 hours a day. You will drown your turtle if they do not have rocks or wood to climb on so they can come out of the water and rest.
A terrarium may be simple to make. The result however, of doing this simple activity can be profound, as it provides enrichment to a child’s life in ways that are very important. By teaching a child to care for living things, they become more aware of the complexities of nature and the world surrounding them.
