PORTRAITS AND OTHER IMAGES OF PAINE

Members Remembered

Many persons contributed their time and energy to the establishment of Thomas Paine Friends, Inc. Time has taken some of them from us. We remember them here.

CASEY, EDWARD

CASWELL, JOHN (1943-2009)
  • Remembrance, by Martha Spiegelman
(Bulletin of Thomas Paine Friends, winter 2009-2010)

DAVIS, OSSIE (1917-2005)

DURKAN, FRANK

EMERSON, PAUL

HOLT, LEE

HOLT, MARGARET

JONES, LOUIS WORTH

KAYNOR, FAY

MILLS, NAT

  • Nat Mills died on September 8, 2003. He was a powerful inspiration to many -- in numerous fields including, of course, recognition of Thomas Paine and his achievements. Both Nat and Helja Mills became charter members of the organization. We are proud and pleased that Helja Mills continues as a member.
  • Two statements head the Nat Mills memorial booklet: Nat's own organization title, Advocacy & Coalition Strategies For People's Unmet Needs, and the phrase that well fit Nat, from Paine's Rights of Man,part 2, 1792, "My country is the world, and my religion is to do good."
